Super Gutters for Pool Enclosures and Lanais in Tampa Bay

A super gutter is the heavy-duty aluminum gutter that runs along the roofline where your pool cage or screened lanai meets the house. It does two jobs at once: it carries the large volume of rainwater that sheets off that side of the roof, and it is the structural beam your screen enclosure bolts into. McCloud Gutter Protection installs, replaces and repairs super gutters for homes across Tampa Bay, including Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel, Sun City Center and Sarasota.

Super gutter with micro-mesh guards installed along a pool cage in Brandon, FL

What Makes a Super Gutter Different

  • Bigger capacity. Super gutters are typically 7 inches wide with a deep, squared profile, so they handle the runoff from a full roof plane during a Florida downpour without overflowing into the lanai.
  • Structural. The enclosure’s beams and screen frames attach directly to the super gutter. A rusted, bent or undersized gutter weakens the whole cage.
  • Oversized downspouts. We pair super gutters with larger downspouts and, when needed, underground drainage so the water ends up away from the pool deck and foundation instead of pooling against the slab.
  • Heavy-gauge aluminum. Formed to length so there are no seams along the run, and finished to match your enclosure and fascia.

Signs Your Super Gutter Needs Attention

  • Water pouring over the edge onto the pool deck or lanai floor during storms.
  • Sagging or separation where the gutter meets the fascia, or visible gaps between the gutter and the enclosure frame.
  • Rust streaks, corrosion or pitting, especially on older steel-fastened systems near the coast.
  • Standing water and mosquitoes in the gutter because the pitch is off or the outlet is clogged.
  • Screen panels pulling loose along the house side of the cage, which often traces back to the gutter they’re anchored to.

Super Gutter FAQ

What size is a super gutter? Most super gutters are 7 inches wide with a deeper, boxier profile than a standard K-style gutter. The extra size is what lets them carry heavy roof runoff and support the enclosure frame.

Can you replace a super gutter without taking down the pool cage? In most cases yes. We support the enclosure, remove the old gutter, install the new one and re-secure the cage to it. If the frame itself is damaged we’ll tell you before any work starts.

Do super gutters need gutter guards? They benefit more than most. Screen enclosures catch leaves and pine needles that then wash into the gutter. Guards keep that debris out and keep the gutter draining.

Where does the water go? Through oversized downspouts to splash blocks, extensions or an underground drainage line that carries it away from the pool deck and foundation.

Is super gutter installation covered by your warranty? Yes. New gutter installations, including super gutters, carry our 5-year warranty on parts, labor and service.
